A sales representative at a car dealership in Île-des-Sœurs, Montreal, experienced quite a scare last week, victim of a car theft before his own eyes.

“It’s difficult now for me to meet customers,” says the seller, Misagh Khalili, still shaken by events.

On August 10, a woman came to her office to purchase a pick-up truck. She then asks the seller if it is possible to visit it, before proceeding with the transaction.

Once inside, the “customer” starts the engine, thanks to the electronic key that the seller had in his hand, despite Mr. Khalili’s warnings. “Something is happening,” he said to himself in his head.

It is at this moment that the thief takes the key from the hands of the representative, before “leaving at high speed”.

The police have taken steps to find the vehicle using the geolocation system. “For the moment, we have no news. We weren’t able to find the car.”

There has still been no arrest in the file, but the images captured by the surveillance cameras would make it possible to clearly identify the main suspect.
