to reimburse the film, Warner wants to use this controversial system

The Flash came out at movie theater it’s been over a month now. And officially, the film is a huge commercial failure. To try to make up for it all, Warner seems to be ready to all solutionseven those who might alienate them an entire community of devoted fans.

The Flash : as volatile as crypto?

The Flash was not a commercial success. The film was not a short-lived success. It experienced a catastrophic development, requiring more than 45 screenwriters over more than ten years of pre-production to arrive at the result that we know today. For the latest version of the project, the one we saw and which officially started in 2014, specialists estimate the film’s total budget at $350 million. Production and marketing included. And since the film would have so far collected “only” ~150 million in the world, it is therefore a dead loss of 200 million dollars that generated The Flash. And chess, Warner is used to it. Six of his films are in the ranking of the worst box office failures for a superhero film. The Flash now reigns supreme there.

Warner therefore faces a huge problem. How to manage to repay such a colossal sum? As a reminder, the Warner Bros. Discovery currently has an estimated debt of $49.5 billion as of June 2023. To pay it off, the company appears to be ready for anything. This Tuesday, July 18, the VOD version of the film will be released, which will be accompanied by an NFT release. The Flash will be registered digitally as of July 18, in the form of tradable tokens. Or more exactly, in the form of a “Web3 experience”, directly available on the dedicated site. The Flash thus joins two other licenses in the NFT collection of Discovery and Warner: Superman et The Lord of the Rings. 12,000 tokens will be offered in total. 10,000 for $35 and 2,000 for $100. This announcement seems not to please everyone, even within the Crypto bros community.

It’s actually sad how far WB has fallen in recent years.

They have some of the best characters and IP, and they churn out stuff like Gotham Knights and this.

It’s really sad to see how badly WB has gone down over the past few years.
They have some of the best characters and the best intellectual properties, and they produce stuff like Gotham Knights and that.

It literally looks like an interactive DVD menu from 2003 hahaha

In a last ditch effort, @warnerbros therefore bet on NFTs to minimize the losses caused by #TheFlash ud83eudd26ud83cudffb‍u2642ufe0f

The Flash : why do NFTs?

Before throwing the stone at Warner for this attempt, it is worth watching what it offers. And even there it is difficult to prefer it to the DVD / Blu-ray version scheduled for August 29. The Best NFT Builds The Flash will allow you to own your film in the form of a token. You will of course be able to view it, and have access to new content. Several different menus including the batcave, dynamic panels, tables, GIFs and what look like mini-games to collect other NFTs. You will also be able to have 3D cut scenes, making-off videos and an incredible augmented reality tool to make bats appear on your phone’s camera… Nothing too crazy then, if you are neither fan of The Flash, nor a regular at NFT exchanges. As a reminder, many of the NFT-related projects come dangerously close to being scams. The market is above all speculative and only invest what you are prepared to lose. Don’t do like those hundreds of fans who followed the advice of Kev Adams and Maître Gims.
