Riding on the enthusiasm created by the Olympic Games, Mayenne Tourisme, a departmental tourism development agency, will begin on January 22 launching a campaign which highlights the department’s athletes in essential and unexpected places for the usual practice of their discipline.

« Through this communication campaign, we want to stand out with an offbeat look combining sport and tourism » underlines Joël Balandraud president of Mayenne Tourisme.
The concept of the video : In the film, shot in the summer of 2023, a duo of tourists comes across athletes who are training in unusual places where we don’t expect them. The athletes are members of the Mayenne team or other clubs. The surprise effect lies in the incongruous aspect of seeing them in tourist places with their outfit and their sports equipment.
This major communication campaign is planned across a range of media : print press in 20 Minutes, Télérama, social networks, 2m2 display in the city center of the great west as well as 6 visuals at the platform level of Montparnasse station. In addition, insertions also planned in foreign media for customers in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Luxembourg. This campaign will start in January for better visibility.
Another particularity, a poster campaign will take place in Mayenne following the passage of the Olympic flamee. « On the occasion of the pop-up organized in Paris in November 2023, we felt real pride in the people of Mayen. Thus, with this specific display in Mayenne, they will be able to take control of the communication campaign by being a local relay. » specifies Joël Balandraud.
The Olympic flame will pass through Mayenne on May 29. She will cross the following 7 places : Mayenne, Laval, Cossé-le-Vivien, Sainte-Suzanne-et-Chammes, Château Gontier-sur Mayenne, the Mont des Avaloirs belvedere and Chailland.
