DKI Jakarta DPRD member Khotibi Achyar asked cadres of larvae monitors (jumantik) to carry out maximum eradication of mosquito nests in their respective areas. This step must be taken to reduce the number of cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF).
“It is the obligation of the Jumantik to come to the community in their respective areas every time. Usually it is only on certain dates,” said Khotibi in a written statement, Sunday (31/3).
The Golkar Party politician also reminded that socialization on closing, draining and burying or 3M also needs to be encouraged. This is because the breeding ground for mosquitoes is not only in stagnant water, but also in dirty places.
Previously, the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded the death rate due to dengue fever reaching 316 cases in 213 districts/cities in Indonesia. To date, dengue fever cases in Indonesia have reached 38,462 cases.
“DHF cases in the 12th week of 2024 reached 38,462 cases and the death rate was 316 cases,” said Head of the Communications and Public Services Bureau of the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi. (Z-11)
