Clashes involving members of the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) and Brimob personnel in the departure waiting room at Sorong Port, West Papua, Sunday (14/4), were inevitable.
The incident of conflict between Indonesian Navy soldiers and Brimob personnel began with a misunderstanding at the individual level which started with a fight at Sorong Harbor which ultimately had an impact on mass movements.
In order to prevent clashes between officers in the future, Fleet III Command, Rear Admiral TNI Hersan, will follow up on this incident by carrying out further investigations.
He also emphasized that if there are TNI soldiers who are proven to have committed violations, they will be processed in accordance with the applicable law.
“The Regional Police Chief has apologized to the TNI in particular and the community in general and will take firm action once morest the perpetrators who caused damage to TNI-Polri solidarity,” said Hersan.
“We hope that colleagues who are still in hospital will be given a speedy recovery, and once once more, we will continue to maintain TNI-Polri solidarity,” he added.

Based on this incident, both parties will carry out in-depth and further investigations to find the soldiers involved, and will take firm action in accordance with applicable law.
Separately, the Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral TNI Muhammad Ali, reminded Jalasena Soldiers to always show a warrior spirit while on duty and in their daily activities.
