Olives are an indispensable food item as an appetizer. It is also a healthy and nutritious food. So you know the best ways to preserve the flavor and texture of olives for a long time.
- You definitely need a glass bowl. You should avoid any type of container that is plastic or made of any other material. Glass is the most suitable material for keeping food in the fridge.
- Make sure that the glass container you keep the olives in is tightly closed. In this way, you ensure that the various nutrients and taste are well preserved.
- If there is still liquid left in the jar following you finish eating the olives. Save the olives left in this liquid, as it will be the best preservative. You can also re-add some water to submerge the olives.
- If there is no liquid left in the olive jar, there is another way to preserve it, which requires: immerse the olives in water, and put a little salt. And add a slice of lemon or two slices.
- We do not recommend using refined white salt because it contains anticoagulants that make vegetables flabby.
- It is also better to keep it in a well-ventilated place. Put the olive jar in the fridge. This way, it will preserve its flavour, as well as its delicious, appetizing appearance.
- Olives that you keep in the refrigerator should not stay longer than regarding 5 days. Taste an olive, and if you notice an acidity in it, do not use it in cooking.
