On Friday, the Emirati Minister of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications Omar Sultan Al Olama sought to mobilize support and attract investments for the ambitious projects of the Emirate of Dubai. This came during his participation in the Viva Tech exhibition held in the French capital, Paris.

“From France and in the heart of the largest global event in the field of startups and technology (VivaTech), we discussed Dubai’s agenda for economic transformation over the next 10 years and plans to accelerate growth and innovation,” the Emirati minister said in a tweet.

Omar Sultan Al Olama added, “We also reviewed Dubai’s ambitious visions to start more than 30 billion-dollar companies, and to consolidate its economic position among the best cities in the world.”

The Emirati minister held discussions with the American billionaire Elon Musk regarding artificial intelligence and the need to regulate it, pointing at the same time to the opportunities and advantages offered by artificial intelligence to the world.

“A great conversation with Elon Musk regarding the organization and development of artificial intelligence and the path of technology,” Omar Sultan Al Olama explained.

“Governments cannot work effectively on artificial intelligence and governance without the insights and involvement of technology leaders, and it’s good to see Elon excited to share his ideas on the best way forward,” the Emirati minister said.
