The Indonesian National Army (TNI) will recruit career soldiers who specialize in drone technology.
“Our readiness to face unmanned technology is currently only in the technology field. That means it’s just the background knowledge. But the focus on unmanned is not yet,” said Wadankodiklat TNI Marsda TNI Widyargo Ikoputra, at the TNI Headquarters, Jakarta, Monday (22/7).
Iko explained that the TNI will conduct a selection for around 450 career soldiers in the near future. The selection will focus on the fields of unmanned and cyber technology.
“In fact, in the near future, we will open a cyber course at the TNI Education and Training Coordinator,” explained Iko.
In the meantime, Iko said that the career soldiers who have been recruited will be educated at the Magelang military academy under the leadership of the Governor of Akmil.
However, in the future, Iko said that his party would build educational facilities in Serpong, in South Tangerang at the TNI Education and Training Center.

“Hopefully this will be realized so that later recruitment and education will be carried out in South Tangerang, Serpong. God willing, maybe in 2-3 years we will be ready to implement (education),” he said.
He asserted that his party only needs to move the facilities, such as buildings, schools. The rest, the equipment is ready and just needs to be moved from Magelang to Serpong.
Previously, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto inaugurated 350 TNI career soldier officers for the 2024 fiscal year (TA).

The oath-taking and inauguration ceremony for 350 TNI Career Soldier Officers was held at the Tridek Stadium, TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Monday (22/7/2024).
The inauguration was led directly by Commander Agus as the Inspector of the Ceremony. Then, the Commander of the Ceremony was the Wadanse Pa PK Pusdikma Kodiklat TNI, PaPK 1997, Kol Mar Siddiq.
“To all career officer soldiers of the 2024 academic year for successfully completing their education so that today they can be inaugurated as TNI officers and become part of the front guard and the last bastion of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI),” said Agus.
Agus revealed that 350 TNI Career Soldier Officers for the 2024 fiscal year consisted of 141 personnel from the Army (127 men and 14 women), 108 personnel from the Navy (89 men and 19 women) and 101 personnel from the Air Force (94 men and 7 women). (Ykb)
