In recent years, Nequi has established itself as one of the most widely used digital wallets in the country, with more than 14 million people using this platform to carry out financial transactions quickly and easily.
However, its popularity has also aroused the interest of criminals, which has increased cases of fraud and theft through this application.

The most recent modality is known as Nequi-Glitch. A type of fraud with which thieves clone the Nequi interface to make false transfers.
With the Nequi-Glitch, those who have the fake app installed make several transfer attempts to another Nequi account, while creating a fake receipt and sending a text message that apparently confirms the sending of the money.
The criminals hide behind an alleged failure of the app to justify that the money is not reflected in the account balance of the person who received it, using forged messages as support.

Other forms of theft
Another type of scam that has been reported is the use of false payment receipts, which are edited in photo applications to make them appear authentic when making a purchase in some commercial establishments.
Added to this is another tactic in which thieves use the QR codes issued by the platform.

In some cases it has been reported that criminals generate another QR to paste it on the one that the premises have available to their customers to make payments. This with the aim of transferring the money to another account.

Nequi also recommends ignoring phone calls that ask to change your password. Also, do not open any email, link or message from the platform that is not endorsed or that does not have verified domains, since these are generally used for data theft.
Do not share your key with anyone, use patterns that are not so obvious, and make changes regularly. Also, do not accept offers or benefits that seem convenient without first verifying with the entity that it is something real.
