Tips to help us recover quickly from cold and flu

Although measures are taken to avoid illness, such as influenza vaccines, it seems that colds, flu and influenza infections are inevitable.

Fortunately, some steps can be taken to alleviate symptoms and speed up recovery from the disease, according to Dr. Stephen Cabral.

Through a video clip he posted on the TikTok platform, Dr. Cabral revealed a key ingredient that can help speed up recovery from influenza. “If you feel a cold or virus coming on, there are certain supplements that can help stop it,” he said. Elderberry tea and echinacea tea“These supplements would be great because elderberry has already been scientifically proven to shorten the duration of influenza infection.”

And if you’re prone to colds, it’s best to start taking elderberry supplements proactively to help your body fight any flu-like viruses. Don’t expect it to work as well if you start taking it after you get sick.

Dr. Cabral noted that cranberries have been shown to reduce the duration of influenza infection, although the medical evidence to support this is limited.

Current research indicates that cranberries may contain properties that combat the influenza virus and relieve cold and flu symptoms, but no definitive discoveries have been made.

A 2011 study found that liquid cranberry extract inhibited the growth of some staph bacteria and influenza viruses in a laboratory setting.

In addition to cranberries, Dr. Cabral also recommends L-Lysine, which is an essential amino acid that forms the building blocks of protein. The body does not make it on its own but rather obtains it from food or nutritional supplements.

Cabral also suggests taking zinc supplements, vitamin C, and quercetin, which helps absorb zinc into the body’s tissues and prevents the proliferation of viruses from overpowering the immune system.

Finally, it is recommended to eat licorice root, which supports the adrenal glands in maintaining energy levels, reduces testosterone synthesis (especially in women), and helps reduce body fat mass.
