This phenomenon, called “meat sweats”, often occurs following a holiday meal. , or summer, a season conducive to grilling until nightfall. To avoid the fallout from these gargantuan feasts, here are some tips to counter those “meat hangovers”.

Our stomach often has difficulty metabolizing meals that are too rich in meat or fish. We naturally think of winter, with its incessant ballet of dishes, each more copious than the last, including stuffed capons, foie gras, turkeys with chestnuts and other raclettes.

Contrary to popular belief, it is not necessarily lighter in summer! While some eat mainly fruit and mixed salads, for others, barbecue reigns supreme! Consumed in large quantities, eggs, fish or even meat can make you feel excessively hot. If we sweat naturally in summer, this is even more true following ingesting the proteins present in large quantities in these foods. The problem is that these biological molecules are relatively difficult for many people to digest. You will therefore need much more energy for your body to assimilate and digest them: this process will generate heat production in the body, called “thermogenesis”.

How to cure it ?
