The Belgian coast expects an influx of tourists this weekend in view of the high temperatures. According to figures from the provincial tourism agency Westtoer, hotels have an occupancy rate of 85% for the night from Friday to Saturday, and even 90% for the following night. Some practical arrangements must therefore be taken into account.

Starting with the E40 motorway which will be closed between Sint-Denijs-Westrem and Aalter from Saturday evening from 8 p.m. until Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m.

SNCB will also put three additional trains into service on Saturday and Sunday towards the Coast, the railway company said on Thursday.

Two additional trains will connect the interior of the country to Ostend morning and evening. An additional train will also run towards Blankenberge at the same frequency.

However, SNCB asks travelers to take into account the crowds despite the additional trains planned and to postpone their departure somewhat if possible.
