How to keep warm if your home is frozen and heating has not yet been provided? Which sweater to wear? And what to cook to boost your immunity? Colleagues from “Doctor Peter» i The Girl We have collected the main tips for the fall.

A good old hot water bottle will help you feel the warmth. If you don’t have it, take a thick bag, pour buckwheat or other solid cereal into it and heat it in the microwave. Alternative: plastic warm water bottles or pets.

Just warm your torso, not your arms and legs. It will be much more effective.

Move more

Try doing a little cleaning, sweeping the floor, washing the dishes, jumping, or even dancing. Any physical activity will circulate the blood throughout the body and help you feel warm.

Foods high in fat and protein will help keep you warm in the cold – they are slowly absorbed by the body. Choose hearty soups with meat and beans, stir-fries, pilaf with brown rice, and so on.

After you shower, leave the bathroom door open. Warm steam will make the air in the house less cool and dry, at least for a short time.

The combination of three thin sweaters will keep you warm much better than one thick one.

Among the advantages is that wool sweaters are always warm and thick, so it is really difficult to get cold in them. In addition, they do not require the same careful care as other fabrics, because wool itself holds its shape for a very long time and does not deform.

But woolen items are very scratchy. So this is more of a warm option for a second layer, rather than an everyday garment that can be worn over underwear.

Cotton – as soft and pleasant to the body as possible. In addition, they are light, breathable and, which is a huge plus for the lazy, almost do not wrinkle. It is actually difficult to spoil a cotton sweater due to improper wear or inappropriate storage conditions. But there are, of course, several disadvantages.

Cotton is a material that is not friendly to the washing machine, so it often shrinks during washing. Another disadvantage is that cotton sweaters are quite thin, so in cold weather they are more likely to be the first layer, on top of which it is better to wear something warmer.

Cashmere is a recognized “luxury” in the world of warm clothing. Sweaters made from it usually look very “expensive” and luxurious. It is not cheap: cashmere is made from the down of goats living in the highlands of Mongolia, India and China. Cashmere items are warm, pleasant to the body and soft.

The big disadvantage of cashmere is its delicacy and “fragility”. So you will have to wash the sweater very carefully if you want it to last you for many years.

Acrylic is the most affordable alternative to natural materials. Things made from acrylic are warm, pleasant to the body, do not require special care, and most importantly, they dry quickly when washed.

The main disadvantage: such a sweater will not last more than one or maximum two seasons, so you will soon have to buy a new one.
