“Do not buy medicines written in Chinese, Pakistani, it does not matter who sells it… it is an illicit pharmaceutical in Venezuela. You have no guarantee that this medication met the standards, ”he expressed emphatically in an interview offered to the Unión Radio Éxitos Circuit.
Flexibility in the rules
During the scarcity season, the authorities decided to make the methods for evaluating medicines more flexible and to be able to fill the shelves more quickly, a practice that is maintained, despite the fact that the situation no longer warrants it.
Another of the pharmacists’ recommendations is to give priority to national drugs, since all of them have passed through the laboratories of the National Institute of Hygiene, the entity in charge of certifying the product.
“If there are no nationals, it is necessary to verify if there is a sanitary import permit by pharmaceutical houses,” said Marabia Escobar, manager of the Pharmaceutical Service of the Metropolitan Polyclinic.
