According to the Korea Expressway Corporation, as of 9 am on this day, the estimated time taken from each city’s toll gate to the Seoul toll gate is 5 hours and 26 minutes in Busan, 5 hours and 6 minutes in Ulsan, 3 hours and 50 minutes in Gwangju, and 4 hours and 26 minutes in Daegu.

Congestion began at around 7:24 a.m. on the 7km section of the Seohaean Expressway from near Dangjin to Seohae Bridge toward Seoul as the number of vehicles increased.

The road construction company predicted that congestion on the return route would begin in earnest from 10 to 11 a.m., be most severe around 5 to 6 p.m., and resolve between 11 p.m. and midnight.

The flow of traffic toward home is expected to be relatively smooth. The Korea Road Corporation predicted that 4.82 million vehicles would move across the country on this day. It is expected that 380,000 vehicles will move from the metropolitan area to the provinces and 490,000 vehicles from the provinces to the metropolitan area, and traffic volume is expected to be higher than usual on Sundays.
