The dating application integrates for the first time a “boosted with AI” tool.
It’s a first. Match, the parent company of Tinder, announces the introduction of a new feature boosted with artificial intelligence. A small sample of users currently have access to a tool to help select the best profile pictures.
“Artificial intelligence has really inspired our team, especially by pushing us to think regarding how to create new experiences but also to solve recurring problems” explains the CEO of Match, Bernard Kim. “In the case of Tinder, newcomers are very excited to get started, and there comes this point where they have to upload five photos for their profile…People are nervous and uncomfortable. They wonder what is the best photo I took during the year?” And it is precisely for this reason that Match has designed an AI that helps to choose 5 photos from the smartphone’s image catalog, instead of the user.
“I think AI can help our users build their profile better” explains Bernard Kim.
And the company intends to go much further. According to a study she conducted, almost a third of users say they are willing to use generative AI to create a complete profile.
Tinder has yet to say when the new feature will roll out to everyone.
