Tinder users will have a new high-end feature that will allow them to access an exclusive section of the platform through a membership much higher than all those currently paid for in the application. “Tinder Select” will only allow access to users who decide to make monthly payments of $499 per month.

This new product would not only consist of the incorporation of new features, but would also have a distinctive element of greater value: exclusivity. According to Mark Van Ryswyk, head of product at Tinder, users would be willing to pay high sums of money (such as a subscription of $500 per month) to have exclusive experiences and “quality” matches on the application.

This is not the only differential feature of Select, but the application also requires users to go through an application period that filters their profile before they can access this new version of the service.

According to Tinder, this section is so exclusive that only 1% of users will be able to access “Select” and will also be able to show a special badge that identifies them as members of this exclusive community within the dating application.

Logically, the exclusivity will also be accompanied by new functions such as the ability to send direct messages to other members without having to “match”, but only twice a week and a Super Like cannot be sent during this time. Additionally, you can indicate whether you want (or not) to receive direct messages to the profile.

The application promises that Select members will have access to a new category of profiles, which are classified as “the most wanted” although it does not detail how these profiles are classified as such or what it refers to when it indicates that they will have better experiences in the connections.

This new monthly subscription will also have similar benefits such as the ability to see the profile photos of all users who have “Liked” them even if they have not paid for the Tinder Gold or Platinum membership. This feature will also allow access to new features of the application that are in trial versions or are regarding to debut in the global version, as early access.

For the rest of the users who do not want to pay large sums of money to have connections on Tinder, the application has also launched a special function called “Tinder Matchmaker”, which is characterized by allowing friends or family to recommend potential profiles with which the User account holder might have a connection.

“Matchmaker” is Tinder’s new feature to allow friends to suggest potential matches within the dating app. (Tinder)

According to the application, users can generate a direct link that can be sent to a maximum of 15 people, including friends and family, who will have a period of 24 hours to select as many people as they see fit. Even if one of them “matches” with someone during the search, the function of sending messages will remain exclusive to the original users of the account.

At the end of the “matchmaker” session, the user who owns the account will be able to review which profiles were recommended by the contacts to whom they sent the Tinder link. The recommendations will be labeled as such, so that it is known in advance which accounts were reviewed by one of the friends who accessed the platform’s new function.

On the other hand, profiles that have been discarded by the “matchmakers” will continue to be displayed for the users’ account, but they will not have a special label that differentiates them.

At the moment the “Tinder Matchmaker” function is only available in 15 countries and territories such as the United States, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, the United Kingdom and Vietnam.
