The Lahore High Court, while hearing the objection petition to disqualify Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi from the Senate seat, gave the petitioner time to prepare.
Acting Chief Justice Shujaat Ali Khan of Lahore High Court heard the objection raised on the petition of citizen Mashkoor Hussain.
The Registrar’s Office has objected to the petitioner not being an affected party.
The Lahore High Court adjourned the hearing till July 4, giving time to the petitioner to prepare.

It should be noted that on June 28, an application was filed in the Lahore High Court to disqualify Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi from the Senate seat.
The petition was filed by citizen Mishkoor Hussain through the mediation of legal expert Nadeem Sarwar Advocate, in which the Federal Government, Ministry of Interior, PCB and Mohsin Naqvi were made parties.
It was argued in the petition that Mohsin Naqvi is not eligible to become a senator while holding the position of Chairman PCB.
Mohsin Naqvi won as an independent from Punjab and Ahad Cheema, Pervez Rasheed, Talal Chaudhry and Nasir Mahmood of Muslim League (N) won on the general seats while notification of success was issued.

In the election, Mustafa Ramde and Mohsin Naqvi, who are members of the PCB Board of Governors, were contestants, but Mustafa Ramde also voted in favor of Mohsin Naqvi.
