Today, Wednesday, Time magazine chose the American pop star, Taylor Swift, as Person of the Year 2023. It described her as an “extraordinary storyteller” who has achieved successes on the cultural, critical and commercial levels.
“Taylor Swift has found a way to transcend boundaries to be a source of light,” Time editor-in-chief Sam Jacobs wrote in a statement. “Swift is the rare person who is both a writer and the hero of her story.”

Time adds: “As a songwriter, she has been compared to Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, and Joni Mitchell. As a businesswoman, she has built an empire worth, by some estimates, more than a billion dollars.”
