After the Democratic convention, Tim Walz is gaining ground in the polls for the 2024 US elections. His running mate, Kamala Harris, is building momentum.

WASHINGTON, DC/CHICAGO — At the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, it was finally official: Kamala Harris has accepted the nomination for presidential candidate. That means she will run against Republican and former President Donald Trump in the 2024 U.S. election. Harris’s running mate, Tim Walz, has also accepted the vice presidential nomination. He has been doing well in the polls since the party convention.

US Election Poll Shows: Tim Walz Gives Kamala Harris a Boost

Walz has managed to increase his approval rating after the four-day Democratic convention, according to a poll conducted by Morning Consult, reported among others by the American portal Newsweek I mentioned. The poll for the American elections before the party convention showed that the approval rating for the governor of Minnesota reached 39% among registered voters. After the party convention 42% had a favorable opinion of Walz.

Responses from 7,818 registered voters surveyed were collected between August 23 and 25. Harris’ approval ratings have not changed in the US election polls. She still leads Trump by four percentage points. Harris received 48% and Trump 44% of the vote, according to the poll.

Harris also led Trump by two percentage points in the swing states of Michigan and Wisconsin. According to an AP-NORC poll conducted August 8-12, 36 percent of respondents had a favorable opinion of Walz. Vance, by contrast, gained only 27 percent.
