TIM expands 5G coverage with activation in 9 cities in the metropolitan regions of RJ and SP

According to the expansion of its 5G coverage, the Italian TIM officially confirmed last Friday (24) the availability for 9 more cities in the metropolitan regions of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, at a time that seeks to consolidate as the greatest coverage among operators operating in Brazil.

According to the operator, coverage includes coverage of 50% of the districts of each municipality in the state of Rio de Janeiro and up to 85% in the new municipalities of São Paulo, thus leveraging its presence in a movement that began in mid-2022 and today has more than 4300 active antennas across the country.

For this stage, antennas were activated in Belford Roxo, Duque de Caixas, Niterói, Nova Iguaçu and São Gonçalo in Rio de Janeiro and in São Paulo, the cities of Guarulhos, Osasco, São Bernardo do Campo and Santo André.

“We reinforce, once once more, our large investment in the two states, where we are absolute leaders in 5G. We want our customers to always have the best experience and that’s why we invest to have the best fifth generation coverage”, emphasizes Marco Di Costanzo, Director of Mobile Network at TIM Brasil.
