Tim Declercq Joins Lidl-Trek Team: Boosting Ambitions for Success in Peloton

For many years he has been one of the most prominent teammates in the peloton: the Belgian Tim Declercq34, will leave Soudal Quick-Step training following spending 7 seasons with the Wolfpack.

“El Tractor” (he received this nickname because of the long stints he frequently carries out at the head of the peloton in the biggest races on the international calendar and his physique as a mover) will wear the colors of the American team Lidl from 2024. Trek, where he will put himself at the service of Mads Pedersen, Jasper Stuyven, Mattias Skjelmose or Thibau Nys.

Often present on Flandriennes, Tim Declercq will therefore put his experience and his sense of racing at the service of a team which has great ambitions for the years to come. The native of Leuven does not have the slightest victory among professionals, his best results are a 2nd place in the Classic Brugge-De Panne 2020 and a 5th place on the Circuit Het Nieuwsblad, still in 2020.

In 2023, the Lidl-Trek team (which was still called Trek-Segafredo at the start of the season) has not achieved the slightest success on Belgian soil. Mads Pedersen finished 3rd in the Tour of Flanders, while Mattias Skjelmose ranked 2nd in the Flèche Wallonne at the top of the Mur de Huy.
