A TIM announced an investment in infrastructure to activate its 5G signal in the municipalities of Campina Grande (PB), Caruaru (PE) and Maracanaú (CE), known for their June festivals that attract thousands of people around São João and São Pedro.
According to the operator, 25 neighborhoods in Campina Grande, 9 in Caruaru and 21 in Maracanaú were contemplated. All antennas installed in the three cities were connected with optical fiber and high-capacity backhaul.

To use the operator’s 5G, the user must have a TIM chip, a smartphone compatible with the new technology and be in a covered area. This modernization promises to offer speeds that reach rates higher than 1 Gbps.
“We understand the importance of São João in the rich cultural scene of the Northeast. We are ready to bring innovation, connectivity and pioneering spirit to this celebration. Our networks will provide a differentiated experience in the main hubs of each city”, said TIM Nordeste Sales Director, Bruno Talento.
The operator also highlighted that it accumulates other positive experiences with the use of 5G in events. Some recent examples were Rock in Riothe Salvador Summer Festival and Carnival in Recife, Salvador, Rio de Janeiro and Brasília.
please note that more than 1,600 Brazilian municipalities already have authorization from the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) for 5G activation. Recife was the first capital in the Northeast to have all of its neighborhoods covered by TIM’s 5G.
