How far will you go to save money? Do you share a small studio with a roommate who not only seems to like clutter but also sleeps uncomfortably close to it?
Adam Bruce, 31, room critic on TikTok, Terrified viewers By submitting an outrageously awful rental advertisement for a home in Dublin. Although they only cost $99 a week and $398 a month, there are some pretty big catches.
First, the newly arrived roommate should rest his head on a small twin bed a few centimeters away from the bed of the tenant who already lives there.
What makes this arrangement even worse is the stack of books and clothes between the two beds which makes the open space between them look much smaller. Also, the current tenant has two pet cats, which makes the cramps more realistic.
Speaking of an already slender living space, it’s further reduced by disorganized and untidy belongings that extend everywhere, especially in the kitchen, according to Jam Press.
There, boxes of tea bags, placemats and what appear to be pots of instant coffee are stacked over the stove, while a dirty dish rack stands next to the trough, in front of a pile of produce and mugs. The small counter space is directly above the mini fridge, and as far as floor space goes, there isn’t much there either.
In the meantime, the communal living space looks disastrous. The bathroom has a small shower stall and a small sink, with boxes of cat litter taking up space on the floor.
“I am a very honest person who lives in an apartment building,” the ad reads. I have an extra bed in my studio apartment (not a private room).” “I am looking for someone to share a room with me. You will have to live with me and my cat.
He continues: “I am a collector and love to collect a lot of things including books, stamps and coins. I’m looking for someone with similar interests but that’s not necessary”, with the message adding that the apartment has no Wi-Fi, it allows flexible mobility whenever it’s close to the city center – and the current tenant would be happy to do a roommate’s laundry for a fee additional.
The clip was viewed nearly 891,200 times, leaving viewers in shock.
One commenter wrote, “It feels like time in prison,” and another added, “I am waiting for a documentary on Netflix regarding the murder.”
Another commenter said, “I mightn’t bear to live there,” while another anxious replied, “The very sad truth is that there will be people desperate enough to accept his offer.”
