USA: In Ohio, a 13-year-old dies following an overdose – a TikTok video is to blame
13-year-old Jacob took the pills with his friends, his father Justin Stevens says. The children, who live in the state of Ohio, filmed Jacob taking the pills. His body was immediately swollen, and he was immediately taken to the hospital. But the doctors might not save him.
“It was just too much for his body,” Jacob’s father Justin said. His son was put directly on ventilators but showed no response. “There were no more brainwaves, nothing. We might only watch him and knew that he would never wake up once more.” After six days in a coma, Jacob died.
Deadly TikTok Challenge: Family remembers bright boy
There have always been tests of courage – today young people are inundated with a large number of them. In the USA, doctors warned of a TikTok trend that encourages climbing. Other teens choked themselves to death over TikTok videos.
“No matter what bad day I had, when nothing might make me smile – Jacob might always make me laugh,” says the father of his son, who friends also remember as a bright, always friendly boy. “No matter what the cost, I will do everything so that other children do not go through the same thing,” the boy’s grandmother said in a TV interview.
