Tigres de Aragua beat Caribes de Anzoátegui this Wednesday with a score of 10-5, in a day of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) that was historic for slugger Balbino Fuenmayor.
The Bengalis consolidated themselves with a cluster of six scores in the fifth episode to win the first duel of a two-game series against La Tribu, which takes place at the José Pérez Colmenares stadium in Maracay.
In that clash Fuenmayor hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning and reached 70 home runs in home ball. According to information from the press department of the aborigines, the native of the Carabobo state is one of the two active hitters with the most home runs in the LVBP and all of them have hit with the eastern currency.
Failures in relay
As in the 2023/2024 harvest, Caribes de Anzoátegui exhibits worrying flaws in the relief pitching staff.
The starter of the match for the Anzoatiguenses was Emerson Martínez, who took the loss, but the bullpen pieces could not maintain the game with a short lead.
Martínez, who received two runs in three and two-thirds innings, was relieved by Liarvis Breto, who got one out to end the fourth inning. Manager Morgan Ensberg gave the ball to Saúl Terán to start the fifth chapter and he was ambushed by the Aragonese offensive.
They made four runs against Terán and could only get one batter out of circulation. In his place, Leonard García entered, who was given two more but was able to finish the inning.
The Indigenous Machinery began to score in the sixth act with one score and another four in the seventh to put the score at 8-5, but the locals responded in the loss of that chapter with a score and another in the eighth to seal the actions.
The experienced receiver Jesús Sucre stood out for the Bengalis. He went 2-for-4 with a home run, one run scored and two RBIs. Álex Carrillo won the award.
