PARALYMPIC GAMES – While it is still possible to get tickets for the Paris Olympic Games, mainly football at low prices, the ticket office for the Paralympic Games opens this Monday, October 9.
The sale of tickets for the sporting event which will take place from August 28 to September 8 in the capital will be very different and more accessible than that for the Olympics, which took place in several stages and had caused its share of discontent.
• Why this date?
It is no coincidence of the calendar, the ticket office opens the day following Paralympic Day, which took place this Sunday October 8 at Place de la République in Paris. An event, attended by Emmanuel Macron and Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, which aimed to introduce people to the practice of sport for people with disabilities and highlight the Games, less than a year before the opening ceremony.
Several headliners from the French Paralympic movement, like swimmer Théo Curin, eight-time Paralympic ski champion Marie Bochet and even Blues chef de mission Michaël Jeremiasz were there.
• How many places available?
This Monday from 10 a.m., all 2.8 million places will be on sale. Unlike the Olympics, where the purchase first went through a draw, the keys to attending the 549 events in the 22 parasports will be up for grabs according to the adage ” first come, first served “.
If all the places were taken, the London-2012 record of 2.7 million tickets sold would be broken. A high, but claimed, ambition from the organizing committee.
• Where to buy tickets ?
You will need to go to the same site as the Olympic ticket office, where you will initially need to create an account if you do not already have one: https://tickets.paris2024.org.
• How many places per person?
Each buyer will be able to purchase, in real time, up to 30 tickets per ticketing account.
• At what price ?
Of the 2.8 million on sale, 500,000 tickets will be available at a price of 15 euros for all 22 parasports. In total, 1.4 million places at 25 euros or less, and 2.24 million at 50 euros or less. All tickets for the finals will be between 25 and 100 euros.
As with the Olympics, there will be up to four prize categories per event.
The organizing committee has also planned 60,000 easily accessible places, and 12,000 reserved for people in wheelchairs. This answers “to all requests”, justified the organization of Paris-2024 to explain this low figure. Potential accompanying persons will also need to have a ticket.
• And for the opening and closing ceremonies?
As with the Olympics, tickets will be the most expensive. Count between 150 and 700 euros for the opening ceremony at Place de la Concorde and on the Champs-Élysées – for the first time organized outside a sports venue -, and between 45 and 450 euros for the closing ceremony at the Stadium of France.
• “Discovery Pass” and “Family” available
In addition, “discovery passes” for 24 euros will also be offered to attend several disciplines in the same day. They will be divided into two formulas:
The “Discovery Pass – Paris Centre”: Grand Palais (wheelchair fencing and para taekwondo), Arena Champ-de-Mars (para judo and wheelchair rugby), Stade Tour Eiffel (Cécifoot) and Invalides (para archery). The “Discovery Pass – Paris Sud”: Arena Paris Sud 1 (boccia), Arena Paris Sud 4 (para table tennis), Arena Paris Sud 6 (goalball).
Places will be reserved for holders of these passes on the sites concerned. They will be allocated according to the rule “first come, first served”and within the limits of available places.
Another offer will also be available, the “Family Pass”. It will include two standard adult tickets purchased, with the possibility of adding up to two children’s tickets (under 12 years old) at 10 euros each. This offer will be available on all sports sessions (excluding ceremonies and “Discovery Pass”).
• The “Hospitality” offer
The official “Hospitality” supplier of Paris-2024, On Location, will offer packages including both guaranteed tickets for Paralympic events, as well as exceptional services and options, both at the competition sites and in the heart of the city (hotels, means of transport, gastronomy, tourist activities, etc.).
From this Monday, these offers will be available online on official platforms for the general public (https://paralympichospitality.paris2024.org) and businesses (https://corporatehospitality.paris2024.org), but also the On Location commercial network of approved resellers.
