In tears, British singer Adele announced the postponement of her show in Las Vegas – a day before it was supposed to start. “I’m so sorry, but my show is not ready,” she said in a video published on Instagram on Thursday. She “tried everything to get them up and running in time”, but “we have been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid.”
Adele said through sobs that half the team was sick. She was “devastated,” she said. “I’m sorry it’s such short notice, we’ve been up for over 30 hours trying to find a solution and we’ve run out of time.” She was “sour” and she was “embarrassed”. She is particularly sorry for everyone who had already traveled to Las Vegas for the show.
Tickets for the pop star’s “Rolling in the Deep” performance at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum on Friday and Saturday were reportedly going underhand for up to $30,000 a piece. The show, titled Weekends With Adele, was scheduled to run twice a week from January 21st to April 16th.
