The Egyptian army thwarted a terrorist attack on a water pumping station in the East Canal area in western Sinai.
The military spokesman stated that a group of takfiri elements attacked the water lifting point east of the canal, west of Sinai, and the elements charged with operating at the point clashed and confronted them, resulting in the killing of an officer and 10 soldiers, and the injury of 5 individuals.
He added that terrorist elements are currently being chased and besieged in one of the isolated areas in western Sinai.
