Thunderbolt in the Bundesliga: Bayern Munich sacks Julian Nagelsmann!

The question had been raised for a few weeks already in Germany: have Bayern progressed under the orders of Julian Nagelsmann? Admittedly, the Bavarians eliminated Paris SG in the Champions League, but the German genius (only 35) lost a lot of credit due to domestic performances. In the Bundesliga, the Rekordmeister, which according to logic should win the championship hands down, has just been robbed of first place by Dortmund following the defeat once morest Leverkusen last weekend (2-1). “That’s not Bayern”, had angrily declared Hasan Salihamidzić, the sporting director of the club, following the passive performance of the Munich people. “There was so little desire, mentality, aggression… I have rarely seen a match like this.”

Consequently, according to Bild, the club have ended the collaboration with Nagelsmann and are expected to announce it. Thomas Tuchel, who has been unemployed since his dismissal at Chelsea last September, will replace him.

A tough schedule awaits the Bavarians following the international break: they will face Dortmund (1st), Freiburg (4th) twice (in the league and in the Cup) and then Manchester City in the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
