Thrilling Gulf Summit: Al Sadd Secures 3-2 Victory with Late Goal Against Al Hilal Saudi Arabia

Substitute Gonzalo Plata scored a goal in stoppage time, to give the Qatari Al Sadd a thrilling 3-2 victory over Al Hilal Saudi Arabia, in a strong Gulf summit between two teams, each known as “the leader” in the second round of the Arab Football Club Championship on Sunday.

Brazilian Michael scored a goal for Al-Hilal in the tenth minute, and Al-Sadd equalized through Baghdad Bounedjah in the 40th minute.
Tariq Salman gave the Qatari team the lead six minutes following the break, before Salem Al Dosari equalized for Al Hilal from a penalty kick in the 68th minute.

And in the third minute of stoppage time, Plata, who joined Al Sadd one week ago, scored the goal of victory with a powerful shot from inside the penalty area, taking advantage of Bounedjah’s pass, to cause a shock to the owner of the land.

Al-Sadd’s balance became four points and jumped to the top of the second group, two points behind Al-Ahly Tripoli of Libya and Wydad of Morocco, following they tied 1-1, while Al-Hilal was bottom of the group and had one point.

In the third round, on Wednesday, Al Hilal will clash with Wydad, while Al Sadd will play with Al Ahly Tripoli, and all options will be open to qualification.
