Three young Quebec actors, Édouard-B. Larocque, Lilou Roy-Lanouette, and Sienna Feghouli, stood out at the Young Artist Academy gala in Los Angeles last Sunday.
Édouard-B. Larocque, 13, flew to LA with his mother, Geneviève Biron, last Tuesday to participate in a pre-award event and gala evening at the Artists Guild.
He received his second Young Artist Academy Award of his career at the gala, this time for Best Recurring Role in a TV Series for playing Georges in About Antoine. His first award came in 2021 for his supporting role in the series Epidemic.

“I was very nervous. All the actors in my category were great. When they announced my name, I was nervous, but once on stage, it felt like I belonged there,” explained the young actor from Drummondville in an interview with The Journal from Los Angeles.
During his acceptance speech, he expressed gratitude to the team of the series produced by Podz, the writer Cathleen Rouleau, and his parents who made sacrifices to support his career.
The gala was hosted by actor Neal McDonough, known for his work in Suits and Yellowstone.
Following the news, Édouard received calls from his colleagues congratulating him, including Sylvain Parent-Bédard, Antoine’s real father, actor Claude Legault, and actress Micheline Bernard. Charles Bédard, the brother of “the real Antoine,” expressed his honor for Édouard portraying his role.
On Facebook, Cathleen Rouleau shared a heartfelt message praising Édouard as a “brilliant and sensitive actor, attentive and generous.”
The director Podz also reached out to tell Édouard that the award was well-deserved.
“It’s touching because even after filming, we all remain friends,” mentioned the actor, who has finished filming season 2 of About Antoine, although he doesn’t know the release date.

Future plans
While in Los Angeles, Édouard and his mother explored tourist attractions like Paramount Studios, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and visited the homes of stars such as Tom Hanks, one of Édouard’s idols who counts Forrest Gump among his favorite films.
When asked if he dreams of having his name on a star on Hollywood Boulevard one day, Édouard replied, “Of course! We were shortlisted for the Oscar for best short film with Recruit in 2020, so I believe maybe one day I’ll attend the real Oscars,” said the actor, who has won several acting awards for his leading role.
Out of six young Quebec actors selected for the Young Artist Academy Awards, Lilou Roy-Lanouette won for best leading role in a feature film for Rodeo, and Sienna Feghouli received the award for best supporting role in a television series for FEM.
“I was the only boy from Quebec. I was thrilled to win and proud to represent Quebec,” added Édouard, who had the opportunity to collaborate once again with Podz and Claude Legault in the series Collection, set to air soon.
