The pact will be in effect from the next campaign and will be worth $750,000 to the 20-year-old Swede if he plays with the big club. Otherwise, he will get $80,000 in the American League. A signing bonus of $92,500 is included in the contract. In addition, the winger will benefit from a professional trial with the Laval Rocket to complete the current campaign.

Heineman has 11 goals and five assists for 16 points in 38 games for Leksands IF in Sweden’s top league this season. He has amassed 31 points (18 goals, 13 assists) in 92 games on this circuit since 2019.

The Florida Panthers’ second-round pick (the 43e overall) in the 2020 National League Draft was traded to the Flames on April 12, 2021, along with a 2022 second-round pick, for Sam Bennett and a 2022 sixth-round pick. Habs got it, as did Tyler Pitlick, a 2022 first-round pick and a 2023 fifth-round pick in return for Toffoli.
