The Indonesian Project Management Experts Association (IAMPI) is a professional association/group of Indonesian project management expert practitioners founded in Jakarta on July 16, 1999. As a non-profit organization, IAMPI was founded with the aim of improving the quality of project and program implementation by providing project management lessons and consulting on a wide scale for stakeholders and the community.
Not only engaged in construction, IAMPI’s scope of services is also in non-construction. “Among them, providers of banking, finance and insurance services, telecommunications, oil and gas, mining and energy, education and community empowerment, as well as other service users,” said Prof. Dr. Ir. Khrisna Suryanto Pribadi who was recently elected as the organization’s general chairman for the 2024-2028 period.
The 71-year-old man explained that in the future there will be three programs that will be carried out at IAMPI, namely consolidation, advocacy, and digitalization of project management. “Consolidation of all members, consolidation of programs including certification, then consolidation of business processes. Then, advocacy, disseminating knowledge about project management to all stakeholders so that there is a common understanding. The third is digitalization of project management,” explained the Professor of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB).
No less important is Project Management Maturity. Therefore, in the future IAMPI will conduct a project management maturity assessment. This is based on the program from IPMA (International Project Management Association), the European project management standard. IAMPI has also implemented the United States project management standard, PMI (Project Management Institute).
In his new management, Khrisna plans to increase the activeness of members who have decreased since the Covid-19 pandemic. Currently, IAMPI members are approximately 3,000 people, but only around 300 are active. (Z-2)
