Three PNB are deprived of liberty for asking a motorcycle taxi driver for 500 dollars

The PNB detainee in the La Morita sector of Aragua state is being held in the Guarantees Center.

Three officers of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) received deprivation of liberty, for allegedly requesting 500 dollars from a motorcycle taxi driver for their release.

Such a situation occurred on September 28 on Los Aviadores avenue in the Libertador municipality of Aragua state.

That day, the uniformed men were in a van, with which they intercepted the victim and took him on board to demand the aforementioned amount of currency in exchange for his release, the Public Ministry reported in a press release.

Members of the PNB Criminal Investigations Directorate who were carrying out patrol tasks observed the vehicle in a suspicious attitude on the road to Santa Cruz de Aragua, which is why they called it to stop.

During the procedure, the men identified themselves as police officers and got out of the truck, a situation that the motorcycle taxi driver took advantage of to report what had happened.

The policemen were immediately apprehended and placed at the order of the Public Ministry.

At the presentation hearing, representatives of the 6th Prosecutor’s Office of the aforementioned jurisdiction accused the defendants of allegedly having incurred in the crimes of brief kidnapping and conspiracy, provided for in the Law Against Kidnapping and Extortion, and the Penal Code.

In this context, the 5th Court of Control of Aragua issued the deprivation of liberty measure for the three men, who remain confined in the Center of Guarantees to the detainee of the PNB in ​​the La Morita sector of the aforementioned entity.
