Gaming on Oled is starting to become more popular on PCs following having conquered the world of televisions. Asus seems determined to flood the market with this technology with its range of ROG Swift screens. It was during the great European mass of video games that is Gamescom that Asus unveiled several models of OLED screens intended for players. After the very noticed PG27AQDM in 27 inches and 240 Hz released last spring, the brand is thus thinking bigger by offering three new diagonals.

The world’s first 32-inch 4K OLED gaming monitor

We start with the ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM which is according to the brand the “ world’s first 32-inch 4K OLED gaming monitor “. As is the case for the current model, the screen has a refresh rate of 240 Hz and its QD-Oled panel promising a peak of brightness at 1000 nits, without knowing its performance. in HDR.

The brand has also announced two “Ultrawide” versions for this model: the first in 34 inches with the ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDM and its resolution of 3440 by 1440 in the curved 800R version (understand: yes it is very curved). It, too, boasts a 240Hz refresh rate with a maximum peak brightness of 1,300 nits, although the display won’t be able to offer more than HDR400. Like the previous one, this one is expected in the first quarter of 2024.

Finally, for the more adventurous (and large offices it must be said), Asus will launch in October 2023 a model called “Super Ultrawide” in 49 inches, the ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD with its resolution of 5120 by 1440 and its frequency of 144Hz refresh.

Asus wants to prevent burn-in on its Oled screens

All these screens have the latest generation connectivity: HDMI 2.1 to take advantage of 120 frames per second on consoles and latest generation PCs, USB 3.2 Type-C and DisplayPort 1.4. AMD Freesync Premium Pro compatibility is well assured, as with Nvidia’s G-Sync.

But it’s regarding the risks of burn-in(screen marking phenomenon) that the brand wanted to reassure the public. The three announced models feature a brand new cooling system that incorporates a graphene film to add additional protection to the QD-Oled panel and theoretically reduce the risk ofburn-in. Only time will tell if this addition has been effective in combating the scourge of Oled technology.

For the moment, Asus has not communicated prices for these three future screens.
