Three new iPads could be launched tomorrow; “Apple Pencil 3” on the way?

New information from Supercharged realize that the Apple would be preparing to launch new iPads later this week, more specifically tomorrow (October 17). According to sources heard by the vehicle, the company may announce new iPads Air and mini through a press release, as well as a 11th generation iPad.

This possible launch, it is worth remembering, contradicts predictions from other well-known names, such as Mark Gurman and Ming-Chi Kuo, who bet on a month of October without launches — at least for the iPad line. If the most recent rumors are true, however, we shouldn’t see any very significant news.

Also according to the vehicle, the upgrades to the aforementioned tablets will be basically internal, such as new chips and improvements to more specific components. The iPad Air, last updated in March last year, is expected to receive the chip M2while the “entry-level” iPad, which received a new design exactly a year ago, should be equipped with the chip A16 Bionic.

The iPad mini, in addition to gaining the A16 Bionic chip, should also receive improvements to the camera and adjustments to the screen to minimize the controversy “jelly scrolling” (or “slime effect”) — problem that causes distortions on the screen of the sixth generation tablet during use. According to another leakercalled Instant DigitalApple plans to rotate the construction of the iPad mini display to reduce this effect — which, according to the company itself, is normal among LCD screensLiquid crystal displayor liquid crystal display.”>1.

This problem, it is worth noting, can only be noticed when the iPad mini is in portrait mode (that is, vertically), largely due to the size of the display. It’s unclear, however, whether or not rotating the screen construction as Apple is supposedly planning will make the effect only noticeable in landscape mode (that is, horizontally).

3rd generation Apple Pencil in sight?

While several sources are betting on the arrival of new iPads this week, the Japanese website Macotakara decided to go in the opposite direction — and in a rather bold way, let it be said.

According to the vehicle, instead of new generations of its tablets, the Cupertino giant would be preparing to launch, in fact, a third generation Apple Pencil. The second generation, it is worth remembering, was introduced in 2018 with the new iPad design language, first seen on the iPad Pro.

The new generation of the accessory would have, among its features, a new magnetic tip that can be easily replaced. This rumor, it is worth noting, is in line with other information shared by leaker Majin Bu [@MajinBuOfficial] that Maçã’s digital pencil would support interchangeable tips made with different purposes in mind, such as illustration, technical drawing and painting.

At the same time last week, the developer Steve Moser found references in the second beta version of iOS 17.1 to a supposed Apple Pencil with a USB-C connection. As the latest model of the pencil uses magnets to connect to the iPad, this text opened the door for a version of the first generation Apple Pencil to be launched with the more modern connector.

Although quite curious, this possibility would make the accessory work with the tenth generation iPad without needing any adapter. This is because, in addition to not supporting magnetic charging, the model also comes equipped with a USB-C port, while the first generation Apple Pencil still uses Lightning.

So let’s wait.
