Three Missouri jail inmates escape, deemed ‘armed and dangerous’

Three inmates “considered armed and dangerous” have escaped from a Missouri county jail, authorities said Friday.

Lance Justin Stephens, Matthew Allen Crawford and Christopher Allen Blevins escaped from the Barry County Jail in the early hours of Friday morning, according to the Barry County Sheriff’s Office.

It is unclear how they got out of the facility.

Police have warned the public not to approach the subjects and to call 911 immediately if they are located.

According to county jail records, Stephens, 29, was charged with delivery of a controlled hazardous substance, possession of a controlled hazardous substance and unlawful use of a weapon. He was booked on May 16 and held on $75,000 bond.

Crawford, 29, was charged with two counts of robbery and booked on April 22. He was being held on $30,000 bond.

Blevins, 37, was convicted on April 4 of multiple counts, including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, possession of marijuana and tampering with a motor vehicle, records show. . He was being held on $16,260 bond.

The escape comes a day following a Texas inmate who escaped from a prison transport bus three weeks ago was killed in a shootout with police following allegedly murdering a grandfather and his four grandsons.
