Three killed, eight injured in Mardan blast: Police

Pakistan Provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa District of Men Of The police says that three people have lost their lives while eight others have been injured in a bomb blast in Tehsil Takht Bai on Friday.

Mardan district police chief Zahoor Babar Afridi told Independent Urdu that it was a remote-controlled blast and that the dead and injured were “riding in a rickshaw of a brand called Tez-e-Batar.”

The spokesperson of Rescue 1122, Bilal Ahmed Faizi, told Independent Urdu that the explosion took place near Jalala Bridge in Takht Bai, where Rescue 1122 transported the injured to the hospital by ambulance.

Bilal Faizi said that eight people including a child, a woman and policemen are among the injured.

Police say further investigation is underway and it is still unclear who was targeted in the blast.

It should be remembered that explosions in public places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had stopped for some time, but after a long time there was an explosion in Mardan on Friday.

The government of Pakistan has also decided to launch a targeted operation against the extremists in the name of ‘Azam-e-Satwat’ and operations are also being conducted in different areas of the country on the basis of intelligence information.

Yesterday in Gilgit-Baltistan too, according to the police, an intelligence-based operation was conducted in a house in which an important extremist commander, Shah Faisal, was killed.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the explosion in Mardan and expressed his regret for the loss of life.
