Spurs boss Antonio Conte is delighted to say the Spurs have made a marked improvement over last season following collecting seven points in their opening three Premier League games.
Conte showed satisfaction being able to retaliate once morest Wolves with a 1-0 win at home on Saturday, Aug 20, as his team lost to Wolves last season as well. Southampton and Chelsea
“It is always important to have time at half-time to analyze together between the players and staff to try to improve the situation. In the first half we were bad for many reasons especially in terms of strength. We have to duel with teams playing with speed. And at the same time, we messed with the whole team. But I don’t remember whether Hugo Lloris made some important saves or not,” the Italian manager opened his mouth.
“Then in the second half I tried to find a solution to the situation. I feel like we can play more powerfully with high pressure. And we create chances to score goals. It puts them in trouble.”
“Ivan Perisic is like every player on the team. He struggled in the first half. I’m pleased that Ryan Sassellon went on to make an impact. He has been playing well this season. It is important that he has a player who has played before like Ivan because he has experience in the game.”
“Harry Kane is a player who can make a difference for us. We always try to give him the chance to score goals. For me, the surprise is that Harry is not only a great player. But he’s also a wonderful person. We’re talking regarding awesome people. He is ready to work to help the team.”
“Last season we lost a home game once morest Southampton, Chelsea and Wolves, so I was nervous seeing the first three fixtures! Getting seven points shows that this team has improved. And we want to continue to develop.”
