Three drivers seriously injured in collision on A-15 North

Three people were seriously injured in a collision between an SUV, a taxi and a motorcycle that occurred early Thursday followingnoon on Highway 15 northbound, near the Acadie exit.

Emergency services were called to the scene around 1:15 p.m. due to an accident between the three vehicles at kilometer 2, said Laura Hervé, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.

According to preliminary information, the SUV rolled over several times before leaving the highway and ending up in the rear parking lot of a residential building on Acadie Boulevard.

The driver of the motorcycle was ejected from his vehicle before it caught fire.

One of the motorists also remained incarcerated for regarding twenty minutes, forcing firefighters to use life-saving pliers to get him out.

The three people involved were taken to a hospital with serious injuries, but there is no fear for their lives.

A reconstructionist was expected at the scene in the followingnoon to try to clarify the sequence of events.

Traffic was still in two lanes around 3 p.m.
