Météo France places this Friday evening a new department in orange vigilance for risk of strong winds, due to the passage of the storm Diego. It is the Loire. Orange vigilance is also maintained in the Puy-de-Dôme and Haute-Loire. It is raised in Deux-Sèvres, Vienne and Charente-Maritime. Moreover, Savoy remains on orange avalanche alert. Winds up to 120 km/h, snow in the Alps

Storm Diego arrived this Friday by the Atlantic coast, before crossing the country from west to east. Winds were reported at 125 km/h in Clermont-Ferrand, 113 km/h in Bourges, 110 km/h in Chassiron in Charente-Maritime and 104 km/h in Poitiers. It snows significantly over the Northern Alps above 1800-2000 meters, locally up to 2200-2400 meters altitude.

70,000 homes without electricity this Friday evening

70,000 Enedis customers are without electricity due to the passage of storm Diego, this Friday evening, mainly in the north of New Aquitaine. In detail, 26,000 households no longer have electricity in Gironde, Dordogne and Lot-et-Garonne, 25,000 in the departments of the former Poitou-Charentes region (Charente-Maritime, Charente, Vienne and Deux- Sèvres), 4,000 in Auvergne Rhône-Alpes and 6,000 in the Centre-Val-de-Loire region. Enedis has activated a crisis unit.
