Three people were killed in a shooting at a hotel in southeastern Mississippi, US authorities said on Wednesday.
Quoted by the Associated Press (AP), Gulfport police said the assailant locked himself in a store miles from the hotel where the attack took place and blocked the access to the area.
Officer Hannah Hendry told the press that the police were negotiating to convince the attacker to surrender, noting that in the meantime there was no more exchange of fire.
Milton Houseman, an official with the Biloxi Police Department, said he had recorded three deaths, without providing details on the identity of the victims.
