According to authorities, three people were killed in Russian attacks on the city center of Kherson in southern Ukraine and a suburb. At least twelve other people were injured in Monday’s attacks, according to local military administration chief Roman Mroschko.

In the city center, a hospital, an administrative building, several residential buildings and an ambulance were damaged or destroyed, according to regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin. In a suburb, a man was killed and a two-month-old girl was injured when a family’s car was hit by an artillery attack and caught fire, according to military administration chief Mroshko.

President’s wife Olena Selenska shared a video online showing a child with a bloody head and bloody clothes being taken to a hospital by paramedics. “Something like this happens every day in our cities because of the brutal attacks” from Russia, Zelenska wrote.

On Saturday, Ukraine celebrated the anniversary of the recapture of Kherson from Russian troops. However, Russian soldiers continue to stand not far from Kherson on the other side of the Dnipro River, and the city is regularly shelled.

According to authorities, only around 60,000 people now live in Kherson, compared to 300,000 residents before the Russian war of aggression once morest Ukraine began in February 2022.
