Three citizens arrested for illegal mining in Caroní

Three men were arrested in Caroní, for allegedly practicing mining activity illegally.

Chief General Domingo Hernández Lárez, operational strategic commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb), explained that the apprehensions were carried out over the weekend in areas protected by the State.

Because they are trades that “destroy the vegetal layer of the environment,” Hernández stressed that those indicated disrespected the territorial legal system.

Seizure

Another camp -presumably- belonging to armed groups was dismantled in the south of Bolívar state.

The FANB military brigade seized 17 motor pumps, 18 suction turbines and 1,500 meters of hoses, as well as other logistic materials.

Device in Ciudad Piar and Tumeremo

To counteract the crime rates in Ciudad Piar (Bolivariano Angostura municipality) and Tumeremo (Sifontes municipality), the military attached to the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) have activated a security device in these areas.

As reported by the military institution, the troops have complied with inspecting passers-by and drivers.

The purpose of the operation is to make seizures of drugs, firearms, explosives and ammunition; also carry out social prophylaxis, neutralization and dismantling of criminal groups, to “guarantee the peace, tranquility and tranquility of the inhabitants.”
