three bodies found in a house in Kessel-Lo, a 23-year-old suspect under arrest warrant!

Three people were killed in the stabbing attack which took place on Saturday 11 June. They were the 54-year-old occupant of the house, her 23-year-old son and a 47-year-old friend of the house. One of the victims was still able to notify the emergency services around 3 a.m., but when the police arrived on the scene, they found the lifeless bodies of the three occupants. They were killed with bladed weapons. Neighbors heard barking and knocking coming from the house around 3am, which is also when the call to the police was made.

Two days following the events, on June 13, two people were arrested for questioning during two searches in the Louvain region in order to verify if they might have a link with the events. These two people were released the same day and have not been charged.

At the beginning of August, a search was then carried out at another house in Zavelstraat, and the 23-year-old occupant of this property was taken in for questioning. A search was also carried out at the home of the man’s parents. The 20-year-old was then also interrogated, but he was released following this interrogation.

Last Thursday, the same 23-year-old man was arrested once more.

“From the in-depth investigation carried out by the federal judicial police, a certain number of elements emerge which highlight the involvement of the suspect in the triple murder,” said the prosecution. “He was arrested on Thursday and an additional search was carried out at his home.”

The man denies any involvement in the facts but the investigating judge decided to place him under arrest warrant for murder. He was due to appear in court on Tuesday, but at the request of the defense the case was adjourned to Tuesday September 27.
