A fourth suspect has been arrested in the investigation into the threats made once morest the Minister of Justice, Vincent Van Quickenborne, indicate our colleagues from the VRT.
The minister has been placed under reinforced security, the federal prosecutor’s office announced on Saturday, following the discovery of serious threats once morest his person. Three men, aged 20, 29 and 48, were deprived of their liberty in The Hague in the Netherlands overnight from Friday to Saturday. A fourth was wanted, he was arrested this Sunday in the Netherlands. The Belgian federal prosecutor’s office requested their transfer.
Vincent Van Quickenborne has been placed under reinforced security and he will greatly limit his appearances in the coming days, even weeks. “The Federal Prosecutor’s Office was informed last week of a possible threat to the person of the Minister of Justice, Mr. Vincent Van Quickenborne. An investigation was immediately opened and entrusted to an investigating judge of the judicial district of West Flanders“, communicated the federal prosecutor’s office.
