According to him, the notices were sent to various objects throughout Lithuania – including gymnasiums, kindergartens, municipalities, academies, security companies, libraries, media, galleries, private individuals and others.

The letters indicate that the explosions will take place on Monday at 12:12 p.m.

The mayor of Palanga, Šarūnas Vaitkus, announced that after receiving threatening letters during the night, the police checked all educational institutions in Palanga in the morning. After the inspection, the facilities are allowed to resume normal operations.

What should be done?

The police indicate that upon receiving such a report, it is necessary to immediately call 112 and until the arrival of the officers, they are asked to remain calm and gather a group of people who can implement solutions.

Only if it turns out that the institution has become the target of a mass information attack, access to the premises is controlled, there have been no suspicious persons and/or incidents in recent days, and the message received is the only information about the threat of an explosion – it is possible to wait for the arrival of police officers and not start an evacuation.

Last Friday, 900 reports were received in Lithuania about allegedly mined Lithuanian kindergartens and schools, all of them were false.

According to the Department of State Security, it is likely that the distributed messages about the mining of schools and kindergartens are a coordinated attack, which is carried out at the initiative of hostile states.
