Threatened Railway Bridge Over Mellier River: Infrabel Halts Train Traffic for Safety

The flooding of the Mellier river threatens the stability of a bridge over which the railway passes, in the village of the same name, in the commune of Léglise (province of Luxembourg).

The place had been under surveillance since late followingnoon. The water level now exceeds the arches of the bridge, Infrabel has decided to interrupt train traffic as a precautionary measure until the flood recedes, probably on Thursday. Once the water level begins to fall, it will then be decided whether it is prudent for circulation to resume or not.

Replacement shuttles will be set up by SNCB between Marbehan and Libramont in both directions on Thursday morning. The railway company invites affected travelers to pay attention to announcements broadcast in stations.
