We would not have believed it, the launch of a new social network is not without being accompanied by a lively controversy, especially since it is not a question of a simple platform but of a Meta alternative to Twitter. We are talking regarding Threads which, since its launch, has garnered millions of subscribers. A success that is far from being to the taste of the owner of Twitter, Elon Mask, who threatens Meta with legal reprisals.

As expected, Meta, which seeks to bolster its offer for an exceptional and complete user experience, has made its “Threads” offer available to Internet users. A simple social network, which despite not being available in Europe yet, has intensified the spat between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerbeg.

In the space of just a few hours, Threads has managed to attract, at least temporarily, more than 30 million users, many of whom are Twitter users. Stars, public figures or even users of Meta platforms hastened to open an account and make it a first post or a first “threads”.

This massive departure to Threads is explained, moreover, by the new annoying measures taken by Elon Musk aimed at curbing the social network by limiting the number of tweets accessible for consultation each day, and even the latest options exclusively reserved for users of TwitterBlue.

Mark Zuckerbeg didn’t just silently compete with Elon Musk. The Meta architect man took to Twitter for the first time in eleven years to taunt his rival, in a historic tweet.

The Facebook creator posted a famous meme, showing two Spider-Man pointing fingers at each other, in an allusion to the launch of Threads, which openly poses as a copy of Twitter. This Tweet was explained as an open claim to have copied the platform.

Elon Musk saw this gesture as a challenge. In a satirical response to his rival’s Tweet, the Twitter owner wrote, “You literally just pressed CTRM C+V.”

The billionaire does not intend to stop there. The eccentric entrepreneur who accuses his rival of having used confidential information published by former Twitter engineers to develop his social network in record time, said he intends to take legal action once morest Meta through Twitter lawyer Alex Spiro. The latter hastened to send an official letter to Meta to inform him that the blue bird has every intention of defending its intellectual property. Musk’s offensive appears to call for nothing less than Threads to be shut down.

While waiting to see the epilogue of this affair, it remains to be seen whether Threads will continue to play its role as an alternative to Twitter.
